In 1950, one of the "fantastic things being made of wire" was introduced to serve people as the perfect place for the traditional Japanese tea ceremony – the Eames Wire-Base Table. It’s also practical for daily use as unique end tables, bedside tables, or occasional pieces.
The tabletop is made of seven layers of plywood sandwiched between black or white high-pressure laminate. The edge is beveled on a 20-degree angle to reveal the plies. The surface is coated in black or white. The base is made of two U-shaped polished stainless steel rods attach to the tabletop; cross members add stability.
